This course focuses on the more creative aspects of photography. We will study images by well-known photographers with the aim of developing your own ideas. We will examine the use of lighting, composition, shape, texture, and form to create strong visual images.

The tutor assists students with the technical aspects of their cameras and explains the camera functions, including aperture, shutter speed, manual settings, and ISO - sensitivity. You will also learn about image quality, metering systems and how to achieve the correct exposure and control focus.

There are opportunities for students to discuss specific technical and visual issues with the tutor on a one-to-one basis. Students photograph with the tutor on a location in London. At the end of the course, all photographs taken will be evaluated through positive appraisal and constructive feedback.
